Pine Ridge is a small, low-density community in North Naples, just east of Pelican Bay and north of the city, with large lots, mature trees and houses built across several decades. Water damage here is often slow and hidden: irrigation against a stucco wall, a roof detail that only leaks in a driving rain, or a slab that stays damp under tile. This page explains what we look for in Pine Ridge.
What makes water damage in Pine Ridge different?
Pine Ridge is defined by space: large lots, mature canopy and a low density that is unusual this close to the coast. That space changes the water story. Roofs shed into gutters that fill with oak litter, irrigation runs for long cycles across big lawns, and a leak can travel a long way before it shows inside a room.
Large lots under a mature canopy
Pine Ridge is about 1.8 square miles with a population of 1,717 at the 2020 census, which works out to a lot of ground per house. The canopy that makes the community attractive also fills gutters, valleys and roof drains with leaves and seed pods. When a gutter backs up, water goes under the fascia and into the wall instead of away from the house. The stain often appears at a ceiling or a wall base far from the clogged gutter, because the water follows the framing. A roof that looks sound from the driveway can be holding water behind a fascia board that nobody has seen.
Houses from several decades, often extended
The housing stock was not built in one campaign. A street can hold a house from the 1960s next to one from the 1990s, and many properties have been extended with a family room, a guest suite or a detached structure. Each addition creates a junction between old and new: a roof tie-in, a wall penetration, a slab edge or a change in plumbing material. Those junctions are where water usually enters, and they are the first thing we ask about. A house that has been added to three times has three sets of details to read, not one.
Ponds, swales and sandy ground
About 7% of the CDP is water, and the community sits at roughly seven feet above sea level on sandy ground. The soil drains quickly in dry weather and saturates in a wet season, and the water table is close enough to the surface that a low-lying lot can stay damp for days after rain. Swales and ponds move water across the community, but a pond that is full has no capacity to take more. Water then moves toward the lowest slab or the nearest wall base. A sandy lot is not proof of drainage; it is a reminder that water goes where the grade sends it.
Who serves the address
Pine Ridge is unincorporated Collier County, so building permits and drainage questions go to the county rather than a city. The community has no municipal building department. Some properties are on large lots with landscaping, detached structures and long driveways, which affects access for equipment and the route for removed material. If a property is served by a private well or a septic system, that changes how water is shut off and what can be disturbed, so we ask on the first call rather than discovering it on site.
A Pine Ridge house where the roof hides under oaks
The pattern is common on the larger lots: a low-pitch roof under a canopy of oaks, gutters that are hard to see from the ground, and a ceiling stain that appears in a room nowhere near the roof edge. The owner has the roof inspected, the roofer finds no obvious opening, and the stain returns after the next storm. The water is often entering at a gutter that has filled with litter, backing up under the first course of shingles or behind the fascia and running along the top plate.
Oak litter is the difference in Pine Ridge. Leaves, acorns and small branches collect in valleys and behind chimney crickets, and a gutter guard can make the problem worse if it holds debris on top instead of letting it wash away. Water that backs up has two ways to go: over the edge, where it stains the soffit, or inward, where it enters the wall and appears at a ceiling. The second path is the one that damages a house, and it is the one a visual roof inspection from the ground will miss.
Our sequence is to read the ceiling and the wall below the suspected valley, check the attic for damp insulation and daylight, and compare the readings with an unaffected room. If the path runs along the top plate, the ceiling may have to be opened to dry it. The gutter and flashing repair is a roofing or gutter job, and it is named in writing with photographs of the path so the contractor is not guessing. The interior drying, containment and any remediation are ours.
What does a Pine Ridge home need?
A Pine Ridge home usually needs the water path traced before the ceiling or floor is opened, because the lot and the canopy give water several ways to travel. The job starts with a read of the ceiling, the wall base and the attic.
When storm water has entered at a roof edge, a valley or a window, water damage restoration covers extraction and storm damage restoration. On a large-lot property the wet boundary can be wider than the room where the stain appears, so we mark readings along the ceiling and the wall rather than treating one patch. Extraction removes standing water; the storm work reads the assembly the water crossed.
When the source is a plumbing line, a well line or an irrigation line, storm damage repair includes the leak detection that finds the entry. A well or irrigation repair belongs to the trade that owns it, and the detection work tells that trade where to dig or open. The drying that follows is ours.
When a ceiling, wall or cabinet has stayed damp long enough to smell, mold remediation is the next service. In a house with a large attic and a conventional air handler, containment matters because the return air can pull spores from a work area into the rest of the house. We seal the work area and filter the air before any material is disturbed.

Why use us in Pine Ridge?
Because a large-lot house needs the whole path read, not just the room with the stain. We work from 735 8th St S in Naples, about six miles from Pine Ridge, and we start with the ceiling, the attic and the exterior detail rather than assuming a roof leak. We separate the water work from the roofing, well, irrigation and rebuild repairs, and we put the scope and the readings in writing. We do not publish credentials, ratings or reviews this business has not supplied.
Why Pine Ridge water damage gets worse quickly
Pine Ridge is low and leafy, and both matter. At about seven feet above sea level on sandy ground, a lot that has taken a week of rain is saturated, and water moves toward the slab rather than down through the soil. The canopy keeps the sun off the roof and the walls, which slows surface drying, and the shade keeps the wall base cooler and damper for longer. A gutter that is full after a storm may stay full for weeks because the next storm adds more litter.
The season compounds it. Hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, and the afternoon storms that precede and follow a named system can be enough to push water into a wall. Hurricane Ian made landfall in Southwest Florida on 28 September 2022 and was particularly hard on Naples, with much of the damage from a storm surge reported at 10 to 15 feet. Pine Ridge is inland and higher than the bayfront, so surge is not the usual story here, but the rain and the saturated ground are. A ceiling that is wet in September is unlikely to dry before October.
How a Pine Ridge job runs, step by step
- Call and access. Tell us where the stain appeared, how the property is accessed and whether it is on a well or septic system.
- Read the assembly. We mark reading points at the ceiling, wall base and cabinet floors, and check the attic for damp insulation and daylight.
- Trace the path. We compare the interior readings with the roof edge, gutter, valley and exterior wall to confirm the entry.
- Contain and extract. The work area is contained, standing water is extracted and saturated material is assessed.
- Dry against readings. Air movers and dehumidifiers run at the marked points until the assembly reaches a dry standard.
- Verify and hand back. Final readings are compared with day one, and the record names any roofing, gutter, well or rebuild repair.
What's included in a Pine Ridge job
- A moisture survey of ceilings, wall bases, cabinet floors and the attic
- Thermal imaging where the entry or the path is concealed
- Extraction of standing water and removal of saturated material
- Containment and air filtration where growth is disturbed
- Drying equipment positioned against marked readings
- A written record of readings before and after
- A named hand-off for roofing, gutter, well or rebuild work
